The Ascot Group is passionate about going above and beyond to support the local community and surrounding areas. March was an incredibly busy month for the team who helped to raise money and volunteer their time for great causes.
The Ascot Group Tuck Shop
In support of the company’s regional charity partner, Gympanzees, members of the Ascot Group will be taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge in June. To help raise funds the team organised a dedicated Tuck Shop filled with sweet treats.
The lounge turned sweet shop, welcomed staff across the company who splashed out on some of the delicious goodies that were up for grabs. The Tuck Shop was a great success and in just one session, the team were able to raise over £150.
Gympanzees pop-up
Members of the Ascot Group also gave-up their Saturday to help support Gympanzees. The charity holds a dedicated pop-up event in Bristol during the Easter holidays so that children and young people with sensory and physical needs, learning difficulties, SEN and any mild to profound disability, have the opportunity to experience the benefits of movement and play in an environment that’s right for them.
As the pop-up takes place at a school, each space needs to be cleared and set up ready for the children. So, several members of our team headed to Bristol and helped to prep all of the activities before the pop-up kicked off just a few days later.
Mud Masters
Not afraid to shy away from a challenge, Ascot Group members took part in the annual Mud Master obstacle course race organised by the Weston-super-Mare Lions Club.
The team battled over 20 obstacles while covered head to toe in mud and got truly stuck in. This fantastic cause helps to raise money for some fantastic charities including Great Western Air Ambulance and Children’s Hospice Southwest.
Andrew comments: “This year, we’ve chosen to support not one but three charities and the great work each one does is incredibly close to our hearts.
“It’s incredible to see so many of our team members getting behind our charities of choice to support those who need it most. These events are just the start of the fundraising activities we have planned and I can’t wait to share our progress throughout the year.”
