Andrew Scott, CEO of the Ascot Group, has joined the trustee board of a charity that runs a homeless centre.
Somewhere To Go, based in Weston, announced that Andrew Scott, CEO of The Ascot Group, is now part of the charity’s trustee board.
Somewhere To Go has run a homeless and vulnerable day centre since 1999, but over the years has hugely broadened the scope of its work to include breakfast and dinner provision, on-site nurses, social activities, showers and welfare provision, housing referrals, drug and alcohol support and general support work.
Dan Heley, chair of the trustee board at the charity said: “We have received support from The Ascot Group in many forms over recent months including volunteers and donations which have been a huge help to the organisation.
“With Andrew joining the board he will bring with him a wealth of knowledge and experience that will enable the charity to continue to grow and develop, and I look forward to working with him and other trustees to take Somewhere To Go on to the next chapter in its journey of supporting Weston’s most vulnerable.”
Andrew Scott said: “When I launched the Ascot Group in 2004 I had a vision of building a company that would make a difference to our people, our community and our customers.
“We’ve never lost sight of that and I’m proud to participate in a charity that supports vulnerable people in our town.”
